Rita J. Fisher, 61, of Woodstock, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at her brother's home. She was born March 13, 1951, in Harvard, to Harold E. and Bertha A. (Erckfritz) Fisher. Rita had been employed as a surgical tech. She is survived by a brother, Robert (Cathy) Fisher of Harvard; three nephews, Robert Jr., Ryan and Tim Fisher; and a niece, Ashleigh Fisher, all of Harvard. She was preceded in death by her parents. I recall Rita from high school, reserved & quiet. After our 40th reunion, I ran into her at C.L. Fannie May (we both loved chocolate). We started a friendship by phone & then occassional lunches & dinners with a few other local classmates. She shared experiences as a surgical tech -- told with excitement & compassion. It was a priviledge to get to know her; unfortunatlly we lost touch this summer. I miss her easy smiles & quiet strength. In memory & celebration of Rita -- she made this world a brighter place as she quietly left.
