Too many places to experience to build a second home--other than in my mind.

One of my brothers--Dave--and his family help to keep the connection.

Probably only as ashes--or some of them.

part childhood "want to be," part circumstances, part effort

an infantry lieutenant in Berlin, Germany, and an army prosecutor and legal assistance officer in Augsburg, Germany

made a number of life-long friends while at West Point

subject to the whims of fate, still doing, in part, what i'm now doing, putting new ventures together, and traveling with Susan

only in our children's minds (though this may be soon changing)

how quickly passes our time with friends, old and new, and family: the morphing from the army and exploring europe (missing the skiing as I type), to raising a family in Crystal Lake, building a law practice, experiencing two marriages, and their endings, and wanting that which Susan and I now have, and our travels together, to remain until my end

passing memories: bill mack's football practices, the effects of testosterone, bill lasky's band classes, hunting on the weekends, some parties--in the woods and otherwise, a latin teacher who cajoled, an english teacher who disciplined, science class diversions, bonfires, talking about our futures, friendships

sometimes

my family, Susan and our children, friendships, the years at West Point and in the army in europe, travelling

couldn't pick only one unless my life depended on it

not enough space--or time

that might depend upon your perspective

why sit if you can run
